In March 2017, AsstrA Associated Traffic AG became an official member of the International Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA).
GAFTA is an international trade association with over 1,600 members in 94 countries. The Association’s aims are to protect its members’ interests around the world and to promote international trade in agricultural commodities, spices and general produce. GAFTA offers model trade contracts that have been widely used and well respected in the market for many years.
The Association’s system of international trade standards was developed 128 years ago and has been relied upon by many traders, superintendents, logistics operators, agents, laboratories and other market members ever since.
GAFTA’s Trade Policy department represents members’ views to authorities via informed opinions on legislative and policy developments as well as regularly published updates on grain market movements and trade issues. GAFTA members can influence and contribute to GAFTA’s policy work.
The Association’s roots stretch back to the establishment of the London Corn Trade Association (LCTA) in 1878. Today, more than 80% of grain traders use GAFTA model contracts to agree the terms of their deals.
For more than 135 years, GAFTA has supported the grain and feed trade and stood for the rights and interests of its members around the world.
