The summer's main sports event – the 2017 Minsk Cup preseason International Ice Hockey Tournament – just came to an end a short while ago. Multinational transport and logistics provider AsstrA International was a proud supporter of the events' fans and partner of its organizers.
What were the tournament's results and why was the event such an important milestone in the life of our company?
The 2017 Minsk Cup was the first major off-season ice hockey tournament in the former Soviet Union. The championship was organized by the Yunost hockey club in Minsk. Yaroslavl's Lokomotiv, Moscow's Dynamo, Khanty-Mansiysk's Ugra, Minsk's Dinamo, and Riga's Dinamo clubs challenged the hosts for the win. Some of the clubs had taken part in a series of friendly matches held in Minsk last summer. This year, the event took a new form, enjoyed a wider scope, attracted more guests and spectators, and served as a model for competitive sportsmanship. Yaroslavl's Lokomotiv captured a clear victory while the hosts took fourth place.
AsstrA was an enthusiastic partner of the 2017 Minsk Cup. The partnership was an important step for our company for several reasons. First, it was a wonderful opportunity to support the city life of Minsk, which this year celebrates its 950th anniversary. To mark the occasion, events of many types, including athletic and cultural and the Minsk Cup itself, are taking place in the Belarussian capital. This tournament not only allowed the hockey teams to test their strength before the start of the season but also united thousands of people, among them Minsk residents and guests, hockey fans, and anyone enjoying an active lifestyle. All were happy with the sports-themed holiday and were inspired by the athletes' noble struggle for victory. AsstrA was honored to support an event contributing so much to the development and prosperity of the city.
Partnering with the high-profile sporting event also offered a great opportunity for AsstrA to promote a healthy, active lifestyle. Work-life balance is an integral part of a well-functioning society and an important goal of sustainably developing businesses therein. AsstrA jumped at this chance to demonstrate social responsibility.
AsstrA looks forward to the Minsk Cup's ongoing success and bright future as a premier athletic tradition in the Belarussian capital.
