AsstrA Associated Traffic AG participated in Asia's only dedicated chemical supply chain event, which was held in Shanghai from the 24th to 25th of March. The summit was devoted to methodological issues in supply chain management for chemical companies.
Among the more than 250 participants, there were not only representatives of the world’s largest chemical brands such as Dow, Henkel, DSM, Chevron, Clariant, but also regional supply chain directors of Asia, transport and logistics operators,
During the summit special attention was paid to issues such as trends on chemical transport, import & export markets, supply chain network designs, optimization and risk management.
AsstrA’s speaker Frank Mueller’s (Vice President) report enjoyed high interest and got an extensive response. It was one of the few reports dedicated specifically to practical issues applying to chemical related transports. The report covered in detail AsstrA’s Trans-Asian Intermodal Rail Freight Service (Rail Containers) and showed convincing evidence of its advantage over other transportation modes.
“Considering capital and freight costs, rail is the most economic option. Reduced lead times of transported materials and goods result in decreased capital involvement. Your business will save on a percentage of the working capital usage,” said Frank Mueller.
With creation of the New Silk Road, one of the most ambitious projects of its kind, there is a noticeable China-EU trade growth. This has lead to an increase in the number of Chinese investment projects in countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt. Recognizing the current trend some time ago, AsstrA responded to these unfolding market changes by accommodating its customers with both full and groupage cargo from/ to China, South Korea, Japan – Europe – and CIS countries. In addition, as a part of its logistics services, AsstrA offers custom clearance in Germany, Italy, Poland, Lithuania and in the CIS.
During the summit, participants received detailed information about AsstrA as a reliable logistics provider in the chemical industry. Thus, the event allowed for the establishing of new significant contacts within the industry. The experience shared by other speakers will help improve present services and benefits will be passed on to AsstrA’s clients.
