AsstrA received an official letter of commendation from the leadership of the Aleksinskaya Paper and Board Factory (PBF), a subsidiary of the SFT Group.
The SFT Group is an industrial holding company producing pulp and paper products. The company has leading positions in the markets for recycled containerboard production, corrugated cardboard packaging, and wastepaper procurement.
AsstrA Wood & Paper Logistics specialists won a tender from the Aleksinskaya PBF for the prompt delivery of new equipment from various parts of Europe to Russia. The equipment, which was to modernize the factory's corrugated cardboard production capacity, required 55 railcars.
This unique transportation project involved oversized cargo, strict time constraints, large volumes, and multiple locations of origin. Loading was carried out in several Italian cities – Lucca, Frosinone, Verona, and Sondrio – Jelenia Góra in Poland, and Kotka in Finland, with delivery to Aleksin in the Tula region of Russia.
"This project was particularly important for us. It is our first time to be involved in such a large-scale corrugated cardboard investment project in Russia. It was also a major step in the development of cooperation with SFT Group entities. Adding to the complexity of the project was the fact that the 23 shipments originating from Italy were scheduled in August, the so-called "Ferragosto" month when most factories go on summer vacation. We're proud to say that our experts coped with this almost unsolvable challenge of organizing these shipments with third parties," says Anna Kostina, AsstrA Wood & Paper Logistics sales specialist.
Thanks to the coordinated work of specialists from several AsstrA operational departments and offices, the transportation of the equipment was completed within the stipulated time frame and earned high praise from the client:
"AsstrA provided a full range of services for the importation and delivery of this expensive, oversized equipment. The company was entirely professional and competent in completing all necessary tasks. The AsstrA team was flexible and adjusted to our needs. They offered the excellent quality of service we demanded, which included making these difficult deliveries on time,” writes the Executive Director of the Aleksinskaya PBF.
The AsstrA Wood & Paper Logistics Department has a longstanding reputation as a reliable partner for customers from the woodworking, pulp, and paper industry in Russia and elsewhere. For clients, AsstrA staff organize road, rail, sea, and air transport, which often includes combined delivery schemes. When transporting oversized and heavy cargo, AsstrA's experts plan customized logistics projects involving specialized handling equipment and support the obtainment of all necessary permissions.
