Bearing in mind the needs of customers, the AsstrA team has recently introduced an innovative service to its range of offerings: containerized cargo transport. These types of shipments had mainly been delivered by road until now.
“AsstrA’s convenient office location in the port town of Gdańsk – as well as a little bit of initiative – led us to introduce this interesting and forward-looking service,” says Janusz Buliński, Head of Sea Freight at AsstrA in Gdańsk. “Using 45 ft containers with dimensions similar to those of tent trucks, we transport volumes of up to 33 shipping pallets. When it comes to the types of cargoes transported, mainly they are electronics. In my opinion, containers appear to be the best means of transport for valuable cargo like electronic equipment. They offer much higher security levels than semitrailers.”
The new service from AsstrA Gdańsk also covers the transport of food, cosmetics, household appliances, consumer electronics, as well as many other products transported on routes in great demand.
“We transport our containers with electronics mainly to the United Kingdom, Norway, and Portugal. In the long run, however, we plan to extend our geographical reach to other European countries and Russia,” points out Mr. Buliński.
Another advantage of the innovative service is fast delivery. AsstrA cooperates with many trusted subcontractors, thanks to whom the transport process runs very smoothly. Sea transport is not subject to holiday-related driving bans or traffic restrictions, which are major downsides of road transport. Thanks to this, transport from Gdańsk to the United Kingdom by sea is possible within as little as 5 days.
