The AsstrA Running Team passed two more major running tests! On September 9 two marathons were held in the capital cities of Belarus and Ukraine: the 4th Minsk Half Marathon and the Intersport RUN UA in Kiev. More than 40 AsstrA runners participated in the events!
How was the biggest half marathon in the history of Minsk?
Oleg Bykov, Belarus Country Manager at AsstrA says, "It was my third time to run a half marathon. The event organization was excellent. The 21 km race began at 9:00 am, and there were even more people than for the 10 km race, which started at 9:45 am. There were no complications and no one got in the way – overall it was a pleasure to run! The biggest group of 25,000 runners started at half past noon. I am glad that more and more people want to have healthy lifestyles. This year I ran with my family. I have already started preparing for the next half marathon. It really motivates me to overcome my laziness and get out for a run in the forest. I’m planning to run a full marathon in a year and get in great shape as I prepare for it. Thanks to all participants! Join us! To run is to live!”
AsstrA Marketing Analyst Maksim Barilov also had a great experience: "I completed the Minsk half marathon. It was 21.097 km long, and I had only positive impressions from start to finish. The new route passed through the center of Pobediteley Avenue, where there were quite a lot of ascents. I was very impressed with the endless army of caring fans assisting us along the way. They supported and encouraged every single runner. And the best thing for me was that I managed to beat my personal record!"
AsstrA Freight Forwarder Natasha Bykova recalled that “The marathon creates an incredible atmosphere and gives runners and fans an opportunity to get outside and be active together with family and friends. I am glad that every year the number of people wishing to participate increases. The number of fans and their mood are really incredible.”
And how about the event in Kiev?
"I had a fantastic experience at the Intersport RUN UA race in Kiev! Now everything hurts and I feel every single muscle – and I’m happy about it! It gives me a proud feeling of accomplishment that "Yes, I did it!" After such a race, you understand how important it is to have an active lifestyle and to run every day. In addition, the marathon itself was organized very professionally,” points out Roman Krulko, Infrastructure Development Division Head at AsstrA.
AsstrA Freight Forwarder Vladislav Khadzhinov emphasizes that “Thanks to high-profile events like INTERSPORT RUN UA 2018, more people are staring to take responsibility for their own health. Healthy lifestyles are becoming popular in Ukraine. We are happy to attend and participate in such sports and social events. Thank you all for your participation! Bring on the next marathons!"
