AsstrA Widens Maritime Business Horizon at Wspólnа Kaczka 2019

30.10.2019

On October 11, 2019 in Gdynia, Poland, the 20th annual “Wspólnа Kaczka 2019” maritime industry meeting took place. AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG experts once again participated in this strategic conference.

Wspólnа Kaczka is an annual shipping industry event for 2,000 professionals from companies based in Poland and beyond. Attendees include representatives of ports and transshipment terminals, shipping and logistics companies, production and repair shipyards, agents, brokers, appraisers and marine insurers as well as associations, unions, and chambers of commerce active in the transport and logistics sector. Namiary Magazine hosted the event.

“During Wspólna Kaczka, we talked with representatives of key shipowners about their development plans,” says Wojciech Wytrykowski, Head of the Europe Container Division at AsstrA.

“Both sides warmly welcomed and appreciated the meetings held. Close communication not only strengthens business relationships but also helps obtain favorable rates on contracts and individual design solutions in the long run.

I consider the conversation I had with the managing director of China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO) to be especially interesting. AsstrA has ambitious plans with COSCO to jointly launch a special intermodal connection from Belarus with access to the Polish ports of Gdansk and Gdynia.

At each meeting, positive comments from shipowners and even competitors indicated that AsstrA is becoming a prominent player in the market. Our decision to form specialized maritime transport sales departments and our overall development strategy have thus been proven effective,” Wojciech Wytrykowski continues.
