Logistics is not only about delivering goods from point A to point B with dimensions C. Often there are also non-standard requirements, strict conditions, and special restrictions to consider. No matter their logistics requirement, clients of international logistics provider AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG receive the right solution.
One such client, German company Tenova, relied on AsstrA to deliver spare parts to a Russian sheet rolling workshop. Delivery was planned from China, where the spare part manufacturer is located. An uncommon feature of the project was that the cargo was delivered to the final recipient free of charge under warranty conditions.
“Importers face duties in one way or another. For the customer, the delivery became problematic because the spare parts were supplied free of charge. The final recipient, the Ural Steel Plant in Novotroisk, Russia, was not obliged to pay anything,” says Yuliya Sadovodova, Head of Project Logistics Sales at AsstrA.
AsstrA experts offered the customer delivery on Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) terms. With this option, the final recipient is exempted from the costs and risks associated with the delivery of the goods. The transportation and direct import of equipment was carried out by the dedicated AsstrA Trade Department.
“The AsstrA team prepared the necessary import documents. To do this, Trade Department experts thought out the trading scheme, concluded the appropriate contracts, made the necessary payments, and prepared a full technical description of the cargo,” says Svetlana Koshevaya, AsstrA Foreign Trade Manager.
“The shipment from China to Russia was carried out by rail from Zibo to Orenburg with further transportation to Novotroitsk. Customs clearance took place in Zabaikalsk. Thanks to the coordinated work of the AsstrA team and the prompt preparation of documents, the goods were delivered to the recipient on time,” says Dmitrij Gerber, Trade Lane Manager in the AsstrA Rail Freight Transportation Department.
“AsstrA experts provided comprehensive import service around this shipment and successfully concluded it. After all, convenience and maximum customer satisfaction are always our top priorities,” sums up Yuliya Sadovodova.
