On April 27, a special “Run Around the Zoo” was held in Warsaw. Event participants had an exceptional opportunity to run alongside lions, giraffes, elephants, hippos, and other residents of the Warsaw Zoo. The AsstrA Running Team was proud to join this unusual race.
“The Run Around the Zoo is more of a family event than a typical competition. The goal of the race is to help protect endangered animal species. The event planning was well done and considered the comfort of both the participants and the animals. The route passed through the zoo, and the nature and animals all around made it quite unique. So that everyone could choose a route according to his abilities, there were 5 and 10 km options to choose from. The money raised will be spent on improving the living conditions of the zoo’s current animals and bring new “lodgers” as well – Indonesian mammals called binturongs,” says Anna Neplyueva, an expert from the Specialized Transportation Department at AsstrA.
According to AsstrA Trade Lane Manager Denis Konetskij, “The atmosphere was great! The AsstrA Running Team is energized and already preparing for the next race.”
Asia Region Director at the AsstrA corporate group Vyacheslav Gural shares his impressions: “Awesome, friendly atmosphere. I felt great representing AsstrA at this charity event. For me, these things deliver a boost of cheerfulness and energy. It’s great to share good moods and smiles with colleagues :-) I hope we managed to inspire more of the AsstrA family to “run the world of logistics.” Sports events are an opportunity to work on yourself and become better than yesterday. P.S. No one caught up with the giraffe!”
Karol Barańczuk, Deputy COO for Partial Loads and the company’s Air Freight Management team leader, comments, “The Run Around the Zoo was an excellent way to promote a healthy lifestyle and team building. Our orange AsstrA t-shirts grabbed attention from a long way away!”
