In August 2019, AsstrA’s customs competencies took another important step forward with the opening of an office in the customs terminal of the Great Stone Industrial Park, a China-Belarusian joint venture. Natalya Murzich, Head of AsstrA’s Belarusian Customs Department, discusses the new location and further development plans:
“The industrial park is 112.5 sq. km in size and offers special legal incentives for growing businesses. The park has industrial and warehouse areas, a temporary storage warehouse, and a customs clearance point.
The park’s location is a significant advantage for logistics. The Minsk-2 National Airport and its associated customs clearance point are nearby. Additionally, the M1 Brest-Moscow highway, the MKAD-2, and the E30 international highway all pass by the park. Also, a railway line serving the park will soon be laid and put into operation.
Taking into consideration the company's development strategy, AsstrA management made a unanimous decision to establish a presence in the industrial park. AsstrA’s customs office opened in mid-August 2019. At the park’s customs clearance point, AsstrA customers will receive comprehensive support and advice on:
- goods and vehicles;
- import-export customs clearance;
- transshipment and transit customs clearance;
- cargo handling in the customs control zone, in the customs warehouse, and in temporary and bonded warehouses;
- quarantine phytosanitary control;
- consultations with customs representative.
The customs control zone can simultaneously accommodate 125 heavy trucks. The temporary storage warehouse is equipped with 15 ramps and the customs warehouse with 6. The bonded warehouse is equipped with 7 ramps for the simultaneous unloading and loading of 28 vehicles. There are reinforced concrete ramps for large-tonnage and small-tonnage vehicles to enter the warehouse, as well as special lifting equipment for loading and unloading oversized and heavy cargoes. The warehouse height of 12 meters allows you to place cranes with a boom reach of up to 8 meters, the floor can withstand a load of at least 5 t / m2.
Warehouse equipment includes modern racking systems, battery trolleys and loaders, dock levelers a.k.a. hydraulic leveling platforms, as well as thermal curtains on ramps. To maintain temperature regimes, a refrigerator (+ 2С˚ - +6 С˚) is installed. An automatic fire extinguishing system, video surveillance with records archived up 40-45 days, and access control ensure the complete safety of goods in the warehouse.
The Minsk Regional State Inspectorate for Seed Production, Quarantine and Plant Protection has a laboratory located in the customs terminal. This department implements a set of measures for quarantine phytosanitary control.
Future plans for the Great Stone Industrial Park include building office, residential, and shopping and entertainment complexes as well as financial and research centers. In other words, an international ecosystem will grow here with a focus on high-tech and competitive, innovative industries with high export potential. The project is a joint Chinese-Belarusian initiative. And AsstrA is pleased to be part of this progress.”
