Modern construction projects require specialized equipment at every stage, from digging foundations to completing exterior walls. To complete their projects as planned, developers and contractors rely on specialized equipment from respected manufacturers.
Two types of transportation schemes are used to deliver construction vehicles from manufacturers to a distributors or directly to construction sites: rail, with a special oversized cargo carriage platforms, or road with the vehicles’ own wheels. In the second case, the choice of a professional, conscientious driver ensures that the vehicle will arrive safely.
In March 2021, AsstrA Client Construction Machinery LLC requested road transport for a CIFA MK32 PB808L concrete mixer truck, which has a Mercedes Arocs 4145 8x4 / 4 chassis. The delivery route ran from the Italian city of Castiglione delle Stiviere to Kyiv, Ukraine. The AsstrA Cars & Trucks Delivery Department team organized a driver for this large, specialized vehicle whose dimensions of 10,272 x 2,550 x 4,000 mm and weight of 24,420 kg were close to permissable limits and required special permission to transport this way.
As noted by Aleksandr Lanets, Head of the Cars & Trucks Delivery Division, the first step was to chose a proven transport partner.

“After we selected an experienced driver, he had to show a negative PCR test for COVID-19 before beginning the trip. Then he took a flight from Minsk to Italy with further bus transfer to the place of loading. Before the start of the trip, the AsstrA team briefed him in detail about the specifics of the order and provided him with all the ferry documents they had prepared earlier,” shares Aleksandr Lanets.
The transit number registration was not handled in Italy, so the AsstrA team organized 21-day green card with Austrian transit numbers and civil liability insurance so that the equipment could be driven in full compliance with regulations.
To guarantee the safety of the vehicle during transport, the AsstrA team took out CASCO cargo insurance against all risks for a vehicle being driven this way. The AsstrA Client received “all inclusive” service pricing that covered any and all transportation costs, including toll road fees.
According to Larisa Mevkh, the customer’s dedicated Project Relationship Manager, planning and executing transportation of the concrete mixer truck was quick and efficient.

“The AsstrA team promptly accepted and handed over the vehicle for dispatch with all necessary registration certificates. Status reports for the cargo included photographs and videos taken at the time of acceptance. During the 5-day project, the customer received two status updates every day. After successful delivery, the driver returned from the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv to Minsk."
