AsstrA continues to support its team members’ sports hobbies. The company’s office in Almaty has been the most recent to take the #AsstrA Loves Sports baton for traditional races. 

The 11^th edition of the Almaty Marathon, the largest running event in Central Asia, took place on September 25 in Kazakhstan’s southern capital. Professional and amateur runners alike participated to test their limits and recharge their positivity batteries.

Among the runners this fall were several representatives of the AsstrA running team.

"This was my first half marathon race. My main motivation was the support from my colleagues who believed that I could do it. Many thanks to the Asstra Almaty team. The half marathon gives you a boost of energy and an incentive to always move forward! I dedicate my first race to my favorite company," shared Alinur Amraeva, a Forwarder in the AsstrA Group Сhina Rail CIS Division.

"I covered the distance of 21.1 km in 2 hours and 29 minutes. This was my first such run, and I wanted to evaluate my capabilities. And I liked it! Now the new goal is 42 km. I decided to participate in this half marathon immediately beforehand, but next time I think I will prepare thoroughly," said Gulnar Sadukova, Accountant in AsstrA Almaty.

The Almaty Marathon is not only a sports event, but also a charity event. Every year, part of the funds raised from registration fees go towards building sports infrastructure for children with special needs. According to the organizers, in 2021 the amount of charitable assistance amounted to 40,000,000 tenge.
