Sea transport is one of the most effective, common and environmentally friendly delivery modes. It is often the best option for transporting goods when land connections are expensive or inaccessible due to poor infrastructure. To meet market demand for sea freight services and stay close to clients and partners in Hamburg, AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG has opened a new office in this famous maritime trade hub.
FCL transport is one of AsstrA’s key offerings, and the corporate group constantly aims to meet market demand for related services. To stay close to clients and best meet their requirements, AsstrA has come to Hamburg with a full range of services supporting sea freight.
“Ocean freight shipping plays a major role in global supply chains. We are determined to become a full-fledged global ocean freight forwarder and strengthen our presence in this sector. Accordingly, we have decided to open our new office in Hamburg. Along with our sites in Magdeburg and Hof, Hamburg is our third office in Germany. The highly innovative German economy is the world's fourth-largest and has a strong focus on exports. Hamburg is a highly strategic city for sea shipping. With offices in key seaport cities in the USA, China, and Europe, we are joining continents,” shares Andrzej Iwanow-Kolakowski, EU Regional Director at AsstrA.
The new AsstrA office is ideally located close to the Port of Hamburg, a seaport on the River Elbe 110 kilometers from its mouth on the North Sea. Known as Germany's "Gateway to the World," it is the country's largest seaport by volume. In terms of TEU throughput, Hamburg is the third-busiest port in Europe after Rotterdam and Antwerp and the 15th-largest in the world.
“AsstrA Hamburg offers solutions customized to each customer’s requirements. Our clients can take advantage of our sea freight import and export services, FCL and LCL shipment offerings, and full support for export and import customs clearance. Our experts also handle pre- and on-carriage transport from and to the Port of Hamburg by rail and truck for LCL and FCL shipments. The key east/west trade lanes we serve are between China, the USA, and Türkiye,” shares Volker Reinhartz, Head of the German Container Division at AsstrA.
