Work to live, don’t live to work. A hobby can help one find harmony in life. Marcin Nagodzinski, Sales Specialist at AsstrA’s office in Poznań, Poland, regularly reaches for and attains new athletic heights and achievements. Physical activity helps him maintain balance and build strength strength in all areas of life.
Since starting his racing career in the Poznań Half Marathon in October 2021, Marcin has already competed two more times in 1/2 and 1/4 Ironman triathlons. One was the 10th JBL Triathlon Sieraków, held from May 27-29 in the "Land of 100 Lakes," a picturesque part of the Greater Poland Voivodeship. The other was the 8th Triathlon Lwa in Lusow, near Poznań, over the weekend of June 11-12. Systematic training and regular race participation are key success factors for a triathlete.
“Now I have done two triathlons. Mentally and physically, I'm already preparing for the next ones. The 1/2 Ironman included 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km of cycling, and 21 km of running, and I finished in 6:51:49. The ¼ Ironman had 950 m of swimming, 45 km of cycling, and 10.5 km of running, and I finished with a score of 3:02:07. Regardless of the distance you are preparing for, triathlons require self-discipline as well as strength, endurance and determination,” emphasizes Marcin Nagodzinski.
Marcin has been doing triathlons for two years now and is systematically implementing his training plan, i.e. increasing the number of kilometers he covers from year to year.
“Training 5-6 times a week has become my norm. I work out in the gym, go to the pool, ride the bike, and run. It is a full range of sports activities. The various exercises complement each other perfectly and involve different parts of the body, so the risk of injury is reduced. Physical fitness should be built incrementally, so that’s why my triathlon adventure began last year with a 1/4 Ironman. This year I plan to participate in five more such events,” adds Marcin Nagodzinski.
The AsstrA Loves Sports project supports the company’s employees in their passion for sports by funding their participation in athletic events. A well-coordinated and satisfied team is the key to business success, and physical fitness helps increase efficiency and productivity at work. Overall well-being is particularly important, especially in a demanding industry like logistics.
