As the situation in the Red Sea / Gulf of Aden continues, a change is being made to the PSS surcharge for E2W. The situation continues to cause industry-wide disruptions, including delays at ports. Maersk is experiencing industry-wide equipment and capacity shortages, as well as long-term additional costs and strong demand from customers.
Oman’s Port of Salalah has reported recovery in cargo traffic after a significant decline in container throughput earlier this year. This was primarily attributable to the ongoing Red Sea crisis, forcing vessels to reroute around Africa.
