AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG, a multinational transportation and logistics service provider, has successfully completed the safe and efficient cross-border transportation of live bee colonies from Antalya (Turkey) to Athens (Greece).
The project involved the careful relocation of nearly 90 beehives using a specially equipped, temperature-controlled minivan. Maintaining a strict temperature range from 5°C to 15°C throughout the journey was crucial. This range keeps the bees calm and semi-dormant, reducing their activity and energy consumption.
“Transporting live animals requires a deep understanding of the specific needs of such deliveries and strict compliance with all relevant standards — especially when it comes to bees, which are on the verge of extinction. It was essential to complete the delivery within 1 to 5 days and we managed to do it even ahead of schedule. The AsstrA team coordinated every stage, from temperature-controlled packaging to real-time monitoring and compliance with EU animal welfare standards,” – explained Yunus Giyik, Forwarder at AsstrA.
The successful delivery once again demonstrates AsstrA’s capability in executing highly sensitive and specialized transport missions worldwide.
