The Kazakhstan team of the international logistics operator AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG has successfully completed the Industrial Project Logistics training program organized by the TransCaspian Cargo Training Center. The course was designed to strengthen competencies in managing complex transport operations for the oil & gas, energy, and construction industries. The sessions were led by international expert in oversized cargo transportation, Elvis Roberts.
The course covered all key aspects of project logistics from detailed route assessments and infrastructure constraints to the selection of optimal transport technologies and equipment. Key modules also included budget planning, documentation for oversized and heavy cargo, and legal frameworks including INCOTERMS. Particular emphasis was placed on strategies for managing logistics risks in the face of today’s geopolitical challenges.
“The course gave us a valuable opportunity to benchmark our internal procedures against industry standards and enrich them with new tools. We placed special focus on risk management, as it is essential for accurate planning and transparent customer communication,” commented Nikita Kim, Business Development Manager, AsstrA IPL Kazakhstan Division.
The practical nature of the training is especially valuable when managing technically complex logistics projects. The team gained skills to better forecast timelines, optimize budgets, and proactively mitigate potential legal and organizational risks.
“From an expert perspective, knowing logistics procedures and the specifics of border infrastructure allows us to identify possible obstacles in advance and minimize risks associated with crossing state borders, especially when arranging the temporary import of equipment,” emphasized Anvar Khamitov, Head of Customs Services, Kazakhstan & Caucasus Division.
A dedicated module was focused on the technical features of rolling stock, routing, and operational nuances when transporting heavy and oversized cargo. The acquired knowledge enables the development of more accurate and safer delivery schemes.
“A deep understanding of technical parameters enables us to identify potential risks in advance and justify to the customer the choice of route and transport mode with full confidence,” shared Alimzhan Ayupov, Trade Lane Manager, Rail Freight Division.
From a customer communication perspective, the training strengthened the team’s ability to accurately assess customer needs and effectively coordinate the end-to-end logistics process.
“This program helped us gain a clearer understanding of customer expectations in project logistics and reinforced our ability to coordinate every stage. We are now fully equipped to present the complete logistics plan to the customer, outlining each step, explaining our decisions, and ensuring complete transparency throughout the project lifecycle,” said Elena Turyak, Customer Manager, CIS & Caucasus Division.
Developing deep expertise in project logistics is a strategic priority for AsstrA as it continues to expand its presence in Central Asia. With rising demand for comprehensive logistics solutions, the company is committed to offering customers well-thought-out, secure, and efficient delivery strategies tailored to the region’s evolving infrastructure landscape.
