International transport and logistics company AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG has released its latest ESG report, highlighting key achievements in sustainable development for 2024. The document confirms the company’s consistent efforts to reduce environmental impact, implement responsible business practices, and promote operational transparency in line with international standards.
Since 2022, AsstrA has been regularly publishing ESG reports based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines. This year’s edition marks an important step forward – the company approved a double materiality matrix to enable a more precise analysis of the most significant environmental, social, and governance impacts and risks. At the same time, AsstrA reviewed the requirements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) to ensure its reporting complies with current regulations.
Real Actions, Measurable Results
In 2024, AsstrA implemented a series of initiatives that led to concrete environmental outcomes:
- Reducing empty runs: Through optimization efforts and investments in technology, the share of empty runs dropped from 11.3% in 2023 to 9.9% in 2024.
- Emission reductions: Emission intensity decreased by 17% compared to 2021, and total CO2 emissions (Scope 3, Well-to-Wheel) fell by 10%.
- Effective green transformation: These results were achieved by adopting more sustainable transport solutions and adjusting logistics strategies.
- Improved operational efficiency: Maintaining empty runs at around 10% for the Dedicated Fleet in the EU is a target for the coming years.
New Technologies and Sustainable Fuels
AsstrA expanded its transport services with new eco-friendly solutions. Customers now have access to options based on HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) and initial offerings of BIO LNG. The company is also testing electric vehicles in collaboration with Renault Trucks, exploring their potential for scalable decarbonization of road transport. At the same time, AsstrA has started acquiring green technologies and developing partnerships in the field of electromobility.
Engagement and Building an ESG Culture
The company actively shares knowledge and experience. In 2024, AsstrA’s Warsaw office hosted a conference dedicated to decarbonizing road transport in Europe, bringing together employees, clients, partners, and ESG experts.
“2024 was a challenging yet very productive year for sustainable development. Throughout the year, we engaged in many conversations with clients and partners about decarbonization. Moreover, we improved our EcoVadis score by 7 points compared to 2023,” emphasizes Dmitri Krõlov, Sustainable Development Manager at AsstrA.
AsstrA sees sustainability as a core pillar of its business strategy. The company continuously sets ambitious environmental goals, with employee and stakeholder engagement being key to driving successful transformation.
