AsstrA successfully completed the air transportation of 23 tons of marble from Istanbul to Mauritius for a leading natural stone supplier. The unique aspect of this delivery was that the cargo consisted of fragile, processed marble, which is usually shipped only by sea. This air shipment was the first of its kind in the marble industry.
The shipment was urgent; however, sea transportation typically takes more than 50 days. For this reason, the customer decided to try air transportation, trusting AsstrA’s expertise. AsstrA professionals did everything possible to complete the transportation in a record four days, despite an initial estimate of ten days.
“The project had its challenges. Due to the heavy weight of the cargo, the transportation was carried out in four stages. We also offered the customer cargo insurance to enhance the project’s safety. Upon arrival at Istanbul Airport, deformation was found on one of the pallets due to its weight of four tons. However, thanks to the prompt actions of the AsstrA professionals, the pallet was restored, which helped prevent potential damage and the associated additional costs,” said Yagmur Topcu, Forwarder of Air Cargo Turkey & Middle East Division.
This urgent and unique delivery was possible thanks to clear and effective communication between AsstrA’s experts and the customer. All issues and details were promptly discussed during online meetings. The customer was fully satisfied with this successful delivery and shared the following feedback:
“This moving process was like a journey on roads we had never experienced before, and we were a bit worried at the beginning. However, thanks to AsstrA’s support, this experience turned into a pleasant adventure for us. Thanks to the AsstrA experts for being with us every step of the way and making the process so enjoyable!”
AsstrA’s professionals demonstrated efficiency and determination in achieving all the project objectives. We appreciate our client’s trust in executing such challenging transportation.
