Delivery of Power Transformers from China to Uzbekistan

09.07.2026

AsstrA has successfully completed the delivery of eight power transformers from China to Uzbekistan for energy facilities located in Fergana, Tashkent, and Khavast. The shipment included transformers weighing up to 120 tonnes, intended for key power infrastructure projects in the region.

Given the varying dimensions, configurations, and weights of the units  ranging from 20 to 120 tonnes, each shipment required a tailored transportation solution and detailed operational planning.

The transportation route connected the manufacturing facility in China with the project sites in Uzbekistan via the Khorgos border crossing. Before the project commenced, the specialists conducted a comprehensive route survey to assess road conditions, infrastructure constraints, and the feasibility of transporting oversized and heavy-lift cargo. This preliminary assessment enabled the team to identify potential challenges in advance and develop effective mitigation measures.

“In projects of this scale, the task goes beyond simply delivering the equipment. The key is to establish a transparent and controllable process throughout the entire transportation chain. When multiple countries and heavy-lift cargo are involved, seamless coordination and continuous cargo monitoring become critical success factors,” says Elena Zagorskaya, Industry Development Manager.

AsstrA experts managed the entire project lifecycle, including transportation planning, route coordination, border-crossing procedures, cargo movement control, and final delivery to the installation sites.

Particular attention was given to the final handling operations. The transformers were unloaded using a specialized heavy-lift rigging system comprising hydraulic gantries, jacking equipment, and skidding systems. This solution enabled the safe handling and precise positioning of cargo weighing up to 120 tonnes while ensuring full compliance with industrial safety requirements at the customer’s facilities.

The project demonstrates AsstrA’s expertise in managing complex international deliveries of oversized energy equipment and further strengthens the company’s experience in supporting energy infrastructure development across Central Asia.
