For AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG, the new year is opening a wide range of new possibilities. The company launched an office in Romania, Partnered with a global insurance leader, and is extending its chemical industry offerings through the new AsstrA Chemical Logistics department.
For over 26 years, AsstrA has provided a comprehensive range of international transport and logistics services. Thanks to AsstrA’s extensive trade lane coverage, Clients from all around the world can benefit from these services. While executing logistics projects, the company pays special attention to ensuring that each Client’s scheme is perfectly adjusted to his needs. AsstrA Chemical Logistics, a specialized department dedicated to the chemical industry, was formed to ensure consistently high levels of service quality.
Clients are more interested in chemical products transportation than ever. In 2017, AsstrA implemented 25% more shipments than in 2016.
Project manager Irina Gneusheva-Borodko says: “On account of constantly growing levels of exported chemical products, we decided that creating this dedicated group would help us deliver reliable solutions that meet even the most demanding customers’ needs.”
The chemical industry involves of broad range of different products. In 2017, one of the most popular cargo types was plastic, which amounted 59.27% of all chemical goods transported. Second place went to other chemical products like pharmaceuticals, hygiene items, and foods. Apart from the above mentioned materials, AsstrA also shipped growing amounts of organic and inorganic chemical items, extracts, dyes and rubber materials.
AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG has received many different certificates confirming the high quality of services offered. It is worth mentioning that the company is certified in compliance with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004. Such achievements indicate high environmental and management system standards. Moreover, at AsstrA there is a regular Safety & Quality Assessment System (SQAS) audit. Due to the positive results, the company receives SQAS certificates guaranteeing the quality and safety of operations when working with chemical products.
There are various regulatory provisions covering different cargo types. As in the case of chemical products transportation, there are 2 types of loads: ADR for dangerous goods and non-ADR for everything else. Non-compliance with storage or transportation regulations entails serious consequences, both legal and health-related.

When transporting non-ADR cargo, AsstrA aims to preserve its operating properties by controlling humidity, heat, and the possibility of of mechanical damage. Non-ADR cargo usually consists of pharmaceutical products, mineral fertilizers, or disinfectants. It is also worth keeping in mind that transportation rules often depend a given compound’s chemical state.
