International transport and logistics company AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG delivered a cutting-edge BOMAG BW 226 DI-5 ground vibration roller from Boppard, Germany, to Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan, for KOMEK MACHINERY Kazakhstan.
The oversized equipment was successfully transported from its German manufacturer for testing on a stretch of the "Ust-Kamenogorsk-Rakhmanov Keys" road under reconstruction.
The tests had been planned and approved by the transportation authorities in advance, so strict adherence to delivery times was a priority. Also, one of the customer’s most important requirements was that the equipment be in perfect working condition upon delivery so that proper assessment could take place before purchasing more of the models for further road construction. The AsstrA experts’ main priority therefore was the on-time delivery of perfectly operational equipment. They were completely successful.
On the European part of the route from Germany to Belarus, the cargo was transported on a low-bed road. In Brest, Belarus, AsstrA representatives oversaw the overhead loading of the ground vibration roller onto a railway platform. In order to comply with rail transportation regulations, all easily removable parts of the equipment were dismantled.
KOMEK MACHINERY Kazakhstan LLP, the official distributor of Bomag and Komatsu equipment in Kazakhstan, has an established and successful working relationship with AsstrA regarding the delivery of construction equipment, spare parts, and accessories.
«Every year, we organize the shipment of 20-30 units of oversized equipment. Over the years, our team has accumulated considerable experience. There are many details to consider for every piece of equipment. Not just size and weight, but also – depending on destination – performance suspension, worker nodes, shafts and conveyors, attachment points, cargo fastenings, and equipment features, which may be standard or not. Everything matters, and everything is considered by the AsstrA specialists selecting rolling stock as well as planning and executing these transportation projects,» says Alexander Gopasyuk, Railway Transport Department Specialist at AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG.
