Express delivery is an innovative service and an effective logistics solution for the delivery of small cargoes. Over the last 2 years, the AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG group has seen steady growth in demand for express freight forwarding. During the first 6 months of 2018, AsstrA forwarded cargo worth 2.52 million EUR via express delivery schemes, 57% more than during the same period last year.
“This service is useful for businesses of all sizes – from individual traders to mass producers and importers. Express delivery is appropriate for small consignments of items from the CIS and within Europe by car. Thanks to offices rendering the express delivery services across Europe from places like Magdeburg, Bergamo, and Bucharest, AsstrA helps its clients benefit from all the advantages of fast delivery within Europe and elsewhere. It is our magic express speedway,” points out Luba Zakharava, AsstrA Italy Country Manager.
In the first eight months of 2018, AsstrA’s top three express delivery trade lanes have been Germany-Romania, Germany-Croatia, and Germany-Poland, through which AsstrA experts have transported almost 2 million tons of cargo, 54% more than during the same period last year. Other popular routes are Italy-Germany-Italy, Italy-France-Italy, Germany-Hungary, Germany-Germany, Germany-China, France-Poland, and Belgium-Poland.
AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG renders express delivery services related to a wide range of cargoes. According to Alan Terzi, Freight Forwarder in the AsstrA Express Delivery and Groupage Cargo Division,
“Express orders usually involve ad hoc shipments for construction projects, missing or broken tools, spare parts for urgent production runs, electronic goods, packing materials, chemicals like insecticides or herbicides, metal granules, plastic wraps, vinyl chloride polymers, paper, bricks, perfumes, and FMCG products.”
The corporate group offers express “door to door” solutions using small vans with payloads of up to 1,500 kg.
“If the cargo’s weight is more than 1,500 kg we can use 5 tonner trucks or 7.5 tonner trucks to ensure transit times of 24-48 hours. When shipments are urgent, a client can contact us and request a truck to be provided as soon as possible. AsstrA experts are able to find a truck in as little as one hour. Express delivery is also possible for partial loads from 2 to 15 tons without transshipments. The monitoring process for these loads is very easy because we use only one truck,” explains Alan Terzi.
Express delivery services are also available using trucks with tail lifts, lifting roofs, and ADR licensing for shipping dangerous cargoes. AsstrA also offers the possibility of using thermo vans with temperature control systems.
“At AsstrA, we constantly develop our express delivery services and aim to perfect them. We strive to satisfy all our clients’ needs for services like next-day deliveries and weekend loading and unloading. Who knows, maybe our express speedway will one day cover the whole world. The sky is the limit,” concludes Luba Zakharava.
