Safety & Quality Assessment for Sustainability (SQAS) is a system of uniform third party assessments to evaluate the performance of logistics service providers and chemical distributors. SQAS assessments cover quality, safety, security, environment, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). It is not a certification-only system; it is rather an assessment system that provides a detailed factual assessment report. SQAS assessment reports allow chemical companies to evaluate their logistics service providers according to their own standards and requirements.
“SQAS accreditation is a key indicator of responsible care in logistics operations. Transport companies and other types of services providers that are active in land logistics and chemical distribution use SQAS to measure their performance. The results of an SQAS evaluation are used by member companies of The European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) when selecting transportation and logistics services providers. CEFIC unites more than 29,000 European chemical companies that provide 1.3 million jobs in a third of the global chemical production industry. International transportation and logistics services provider AsstrA-Assciated Traffic AG offers a full range of logistics and transportation services necessary for the international transportation of chemical goods. In order to guarantee the highest safety and quality in the transportation of chemical products, AsstrA regularly undergoes SQAS assessments. In November this year the AsstrA Italy Branch Office received high SQAS evaluation scores. Previously, the Italian office had been successfully assessed in 2015,” explains Vladislav Alejnikov, Quality & Environment Manager at AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG.
AsstrA Italia received an overall SQAS assessment score of 82%, exceeding the average European score of 77%.
