Sea container transportation is the most cost-efficient transport mode. By sea, it is possible to ship multiple large consignments simultaneously. This transport mode is reliable and efficient, especially in case of long-distance and multimodal solutions.
For a client in the livestock sector, the AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG international transport and logistics group has organized transportation from Italy and France to a number of exotic countries such as New Zealand, Indonesia, Australia, and the Philippines.
“Our client has three factories in Italy and one in France. The majority of shipments are from Italy, and the materials in the containers are complementary. They must all arrive at the destination port at the same time and then be sent to the final customer,” explains AsstrA Sales Specialist Anne-Laure Berger.
“The AsstrA team’s task is therefore to organize the collection of goods from the various manufacturers’ factories, oversee the goods’ loading onto vessels, and ensure the simultaneous arrival of all the construction parts to the port of destination,” adds Frederique Legrand.
Cargo is delivered from the Italian ports of La Spezia or Genoa and the French port of Le Havre, France. The AsstrA team works together to coordinate vessels’ arrival dates.
As Marco Casali, Sea Freight & Project Cargo Division Representative at AsstrA, points out, “For this client, AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG has organized shipments from Italy and France to a number of exotic countries including New Zealand, Indonesia, Australia and the Philippines. The process involves handling custom clearance and preparing triangular trade documents.”
"Good cooperation between AsstrA offices and departments allowed us to develop a triangular transportation network with the client and make this project a success,” adds Artem Martyanov, Sea Freight & Project Cargo Division Representative at AsstrA.
AsstrA offers dedicated consulting services covering customs clearance support and the preparation of Bill of Lading, insurance, and certification documentation.
“Some time ago, the AsstrA team arranged transportation to New Zealand. The containers had to undergo fumigation before departure. New Zealand border authorities refuse entry to any such goods in unfumigated containers. This process required more time and added an additional coordination layer. Everything was done in due course. It was a challenge to manage the fumigation. The private-sector fumigation companies must be approved by the New Zealand authorities. The containers had to leave the port, be transported to the fumigation sites, and then be brought back in time for the vessel’s departure,” adds Anne-Laure Berger.
AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG experts ship containers to faraway countries worldwide. The corporate group’s clients can take advantage of comprehensive sea freight services organized by AsstrA experts specializing in delivering cargoes requiring complex operations.
