On October 7-9 this year, Breakbulk Americas, the largest project transportation and breakbulk expo in Canada, the USA, Latin America or the Caribbean, was held. The event brought together all those involved in the organization of project transportation and bulk cargo transportation. For the first time, the AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG international corporate group participated in this XXL freight logistics event.
Breakbulk Americas is the last of the year’s four Breakbulk events in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Americas. The exhibitions focus on global achievements and trends in the field of project logistics. This global forum for communication, exchanging experiences, and dealmaking is traditionally held in Houston, Texas.
Breakbulk Americas unites transport and logistics services providers with purchasers, project owners, and engineering and construction companies. During Breakbulk Americas, companies strengthen partnerships and meet new Customers.
“At the exhibition you’ll find American representatives of regional shipping lines, agents, brokers, barge owners, seaports, and terminals. The range of participants is also impressive. There are stevedores, surveyors, and insurance companies to name a few. Airlines, owners and manufacturers of special equipment, railway carriers and logistics companies were also there to share their experience. There was even interest from IT and media industry companies at the exhibition,” says Vyacheslav Turejko, Head of the AsstrA USA Division.
5,000 professionals representing 1,600 companies from 75 countries visited the stands of 333 exhibitors.
“Among Breakbulk America’s best features are private meetings in which Customers and Partners talk business. In this private, informal setting, specific business issues can be discussed directly. Some companies did not exhibit with a stand and instead opted to focus on such private meetings,” observes Vyacheslav Turejko.
The organizers of the exhibition paid close attention to the role women play in project cargo logistics in “The First Woman in Breakbulk Breakfast” meeting.
“Visiting Breakbulk Americas was a rewarding experience for us. Thanks to meetings held with existing Partners and our new relationships with American service providers, AsstrA Customers can more confidently implement ambitious projects,” summarizes Vyacheslav Turejko.
