What is the most expensive thing in the modern world? Gold? Diamonds? Or maybe – according to a Forbes’ ranking of valuable products – a rhino horn? In the transport and logistics industry, time is the most expensive commodity.
For the AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG international corporate group, time is not only money. It is also a symbol of our Customers’ trust and peace of mind. Therefore, when implementing projects, the company's experts follow a simple but sometimes challenging principle: deliver the goods precisely on time.
The AsstrA team adhered to this principle during an 8-month project involving the delivery of parts for the construction of an oil extraction plant. Transporting everything from Italy to Ukraine required 270 standard and 25 oversized vehicles.
According to Natalya Shemyakina, Deputy COO for Road Freight Transportation at AsstrA, the challenges related not only to a tight deadline but also a lack of Hungarian and Italian transit permits.
“Poorly planned cargo transfers put the project at risk. The corporate group experts promptly corrected the plans and organized the delivery of transport on the indicated dates. The AsstrA team arranged the simultaneous arrival of vehicles, sometimes 4-6 at one time. In order to avoid downtime for the Client and schedule the arrival of machines for quick unloading by crane, AsstrA experts needed to be as punctual as possible.
AsstrA ensured that the Client was victorious in the struggle against time. The company’s specialists successfully completed the project on time and coped with an aggressive schedule of up to 25 cargo deliveries per week. We also managed to find a way around the shortage of road permits,” says Natalya Shemyakina.
"The AsstrA team kept all project stakeholders constantly up to date. Thanks to this, our Client never had to bother with the organizational nuances of the logistics involved, says Ekaterina Klochko, Asstra Group Trade Lane Manager.
The intense loading schedule increased the importance of comprehensive documentation support to eliminate inaccuracies in the goods' descriptions. The AsstrA team had to respond quickly to ensure the drivers received the right goods. AsstrA's reliable, long-standing customs partner in Italy provided professional support”.
AsstrA also provided the Client with cargo insurance to mitigate financial risks.
“The argument in favor of cargo insurance was that we already cooperate with trusted insurance companies. This guarantees the cargo owner monetary compensation in the event of damage or loss of cargo. Project insurance was issued for this Client. Not a single mishap occurred – that indicates how professional the organization of the transportation process was,” summarizes Elena Vyunova, Senior Claims Lawyer at AsstrA.
