The Brazilian National Water Transport Agency (Agência Nacional de Transportes Aquaviários - ANTAQ) has been regulating water transport services and port infrastructure in Brazil since 2002. Also, in disputes, this autonomous government organization acts as an arbiter in accordance with international standards. In September 2020, AsstrA New York was officially registered with ANTAQ and Sealink became a corporate agent in Brazil.
AsstrA New York’s goal is to expand its business by serving North American companies and enter the Latin American market. Brazil is a competitive niche market for companies in the United States, where manufactured goods account for 85% of the country's imports.
AsstrA customers operate in sectors requiring logistics support for imports of machinery, engine parts, fuels and lubricants, and chemical and pharmaceutical products.
