The Brazilian National Water Transport Agency (Agência Nacional de Transportes Aquaviários - ANTAQ) has been regulating water transport services and port infrastructure in Brazil since 2002. Also, in disputes, this autonomous government organization acts as an arbiter in accordance with international standards. In September 2020, AsstrA New York was officially registered with ANTAQ and Sealink became a corporate agent in Brazil.
AsstrA New York’s goal is to expand its business by serving North American companies and enter the Latin American market. Brazil is a competitive niche market for companies in the United States, where manufactured goods account for 85% of the country's imports.
AsstrA customers operate in sectors requiring logistics support for imports of machinery, engine parts, fuels and lubricants, and chemical and pharmaceutical products. New customers in these sectors can therefore immediately receive tailored transport schemes perfectly suited to their specific requirements.

“AsstrA New York is an NVOCC licensed carrier that North and Latin American customers choose because they value honest relationships. Our team of experts works with global transport partners, so our customers receive competitive sea rates without delays waiting for often inaccurate calculations,” says Richard Liberto, Forwarder in the USA Container Division. “We have already completed our first shipments on routes from New York and Oakland. Under the auspices of ANTAQ, the cargo was delivered to the ports of Vitoria and Santos in 20 and 40-foot containers. In the coming months, we will serve more destinations.”
AsstrA acts as a link between European and Latin American manufacturers. Thanks to its geographical coverage, AsstrA NY Inc. connects manufacturers of goods with appropriate sales markets, provides advice on imports and exports to/from Brazil, and a full range of international business support services.
