— What is the difference between Freight Forwarder and NVOCC licenses?

An NVOCC license holder can officially act as a sea carrier and issue HBL bills of lading after receiving cargo to be shipped by sea. An NVOCC license allows a company to act as the owner of record for cargo when working with maritime shipping lines. A NVOCC-licensed carrier may enter into direct service agreements with sea lines and take advantage of customized, preferential rates.
