While clientele of industrial project logistics providers place considerable importance on experience and the ability to execute complex shipments as required in the industrial sector, matters are further complicated by the Covid-19 outbreak that has impacted almost all industries. Even today, in spite of the severe restraints resulting from today’s global situation, the AsstrA Industrial Project Logistics (AIPL) team maintains daily dialogues with the company’s Customers.
Despite the challenging times, upon a loyal Customer’s order, the AsstrA Industrial Project Logistics team in Italy has executed the loading of the first 2 cable drums on mafi from Barcelona, Spain, destined for Naples, Italy. Against some strong competition from key market players, AsstrA placed the winning bid to secure this shipment. Serving such a major industrial Customer was considered a significant business win. It involved the multi-modal delivery of cable drums with a diameter of 4.5 meters via several Ro-Ro short-sea and part-cargo chartered vessels. The project was well executed without complications or incidents.
“AIPL Italy forms the foundation of a Project Logistics service framework that AsstrA is building for Customers operating in western markets. The team is a strategic growth engine with a clear vision to provide integrated offerings in partnership with AsstrA teams in other key locations like the USA and the UK," comments Colin Bagwell, Global Head of Project Logistics at AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG.
In many ways, AsstrA’s philosophy embodies a "3C" approach to strategic business management in the logistics industry. The first and most important "C" is dedicated to Customers. The next represents Carriers, especially those involved in shipping heavy lift and project cargo. The last “C” covers our Competition, as you must be able to respect and communicate constructively with peers. There is also the space for the 4th "C" which would cover Colleagues as these are an integral part of the success story. By addressing all four Cs, AsstrA can help Customers implement virtually any Project Logistics business opportunity.
AsstrA’s entire team of Italian Project Logistics masters has been engaged with a top-priority mission to build and develop prosperous relationships with the company’s Customers – starting from scratch on day one. The team works tirelessly to instill confidence with all decision makers, even when servicing a project needs and a shipment with a destination which falls outside the AsstrA traditional offerings and our normal geographic range.
“The success of AIPL Italy and the team’s Customers will be replicated in other key markets of strategic priority in the Project Logistics industry. AsstrA has plans that are being executed immediately as well as over the forthcoming months and years. All will be achieved through the recruitment of like-minded professionals who share our goals, objectives, vision and desires. Finally, retention of key staff is paramount across AIPL”, resumes Colin Bagwell.
UPD: In August 2020, AsstrA Industrial Project Logistics experts organized the transportation of the final batch of goods. The cargo was successfully delivered from Spanish Catalonia to a destination in the region of Campania, Italy. This successfully completed project has been added to the team's long track record of safe deliveries.
