The AsstrA corporate group continues to optimize its operations and improve the services it provides in the USA. In June of this year, AsstrA NY Inc. has provided United States Customs with warranties for a Carrier 3 (C3) Bond.
The officially required C3 Bond guarantees the performance of AsstrA NY Inc. as a NVOCC carrier regarding customs procedures and obligations for imports to the United States. The C3 Bond will help AsstrA provide customers with faster and better US import services.
The Activity Code 3 International Carrier Customs Bond serves to ensure the company’s obligation to provide accurate declarations of the imported goods being carried. As a rule, the holders of the customs guarantee are importers and carriers, brokers, operators of foreign trade zones, and other parties working with the US customs and border authorities. The recipient is US Customs and Border Protection. This guarantee applies to the clearance of ships, road vehicles, and aircraft that import cargo to the USA. The Carrier’s International Customs Bond ranges from $25,000 to $250,000.
The Activity Code 3 Code C3 is used to register in the Automated Manifest System (AMS), which is used to track cargo and deter possible security threats. An AMS electronic document describing the goods being imported should be submitted to the customs authorities not later than 24 hours before the departure of a vessel on its voyage to US ports. In case of incorrect or untimely registration, it will be difficult to discharge the goods in the US and the customs authorities may impose a fine of between $500 to $5,000.
“AsstrA’s office in New York City has already begun to import cargo from all around to the United States. Our Clients receive world-class service at favorable rates without paying extra fees to intermediaries. A value add for importers is being able to take ownership of imported goods without waiting for customs formalities,” comments Viacheslav Tureiko, AsstrA US Regional Director.
