The field of project logistics is full of challenges and risks. Market conditions are constantly evolving due to factors like fluctuations in global demand for transportation and the pandemic. To stay competitive, infrastructure companies and manufacturers require more expert support and “impossible” solutions than ever. In an environment where so much is at stake, the health of personnel, the safety of cargo, and punctual deliveries are paramount.
AsstrA Industrial Product Logistics (AIPL) has been supporting industrial projects and organizing one-off shipments of large, specialized equipment since 2016. Working with a well-developed network of like-minded strategic partners, we provide a comprehensive range of project freight and equipment transport services as well as supply chain solutions according to customers’ requirements.
In order to maximize our capabilities around the world, the AIPL Team is constantly expanding and has members in AsstrA offices in Italy, Poland, Finland, the UK, the USA, the CIS, and Asia. This year, the CIS and Italian divisions successfully secured new business that significantly contributed to the corporate group’s overall growth.
In 2021, the AIPL team transported more than 35,000 tons of cargo and over a total distance of 318,800 km. 93% of this cargo was heavy equipment and 63% consisted of chemical industry products. The most popular types of rolling stock used for project cargo were tilt-covered trucks, sided flat trucks, and open wagons, which respectively accounted for 28%, 17%, and 11% of orders.
Industrial projects frequently involve the shipment of heavy, oversized, high-value, time-sensitive, and hazardous cargo to remote locations and job sites. All regulatory paperwork associated with each cargo shipment must be entirely accurate and error-free. The AIPL team provides a full range of value-added delivery support services, including handling import and export documentation, organizing customs clearance, arranging insurance, negotiating freight rates, consolidating cargo, tracking, and supervising loading/unloading.
