A 20-meter Moscow metro wagon. A 6-ton passenger plane engine. A 1,000-part city tram. All these vehicles’ components must go a long way before they can function together as a whole.

From 21 to 23 May, the German city of Bremen will host the "heavy" logistics and transportation industry’s key annual event: Breakbulk Europe. Representatives of the entire industrial supply chain will come together in the Bremen Musicians’ hometown.

Project transportation is one of the most interesting areas of logistics. It involves not just transport, engineering, and customs, but often legal, economic, and sometimes political issues as well.

The origin stories of airports, reactors, factories, and large industrial construction all share a common element: project logistics. From March to August 2018, transport and logistics operator AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG transported crane parts, counterweights, crane maintenance equipment, and several self-propelled heavy and oversized cargo moving modules.

In August of this year, the AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG group of transport and logistics companies shipped a new 26-meter rail wagon to Germany, and then shipped similar cargo from Switzerland a few weeks later.
